My
Are you one of the beloved duped by the new spirituality that denies Jesus Christ? One who bought into the postmodern-Emergent-3rd Wave ooey-gooey mess that has abandoned the authority of the Bible in the name of being “relevant” in the modern world? Lost your fruitfulness, eh? I did, too.
Please join me in taking the Dr. Philibuster pledge for 2009.
I resolve – after repenting – to renounce the Oprahification of the church and the wisdom of Dr. Philibuster in favor of the authority of God’s Word, the Bible.
A filibuster is strategic tactic for pirating or hijacking a debate. Because the church of Jesus Christ has followed the world instead of being led of the Spirit of God, men and women of God have abandoned their commitment to be people of the Scriptures and have instead adopted the stance of being imitation Dr. Phils and Oprah wannabes. We’ve cloned the world instead of confronting it. While this can gather a crowd, it is not the Truth that leads to eternal life.
I resolve to stop listening to and preaching Oprah and Dr Phil (Dr. Laura, too) and will return to the teaching of God’s wisdom, the Bible. While Dr Phil’s tough-minded 10 Life Laws may superficially help in the short term, they are no substitute for the 10 commandments that help eternally.
I vow to quit trying to transform my life from the inside out and will submit to the word of God and the indwelling Holy Spirit for all my issues and answers. Standing on Romans12:2, “I will not be conformed any longer to the pattern of this world, (that’s Dr. Phil and Oprah) but will be transformed by the renewing of my mind through prayer and meditation in the Holy Scriptures.”. May Dr Phil “get real” with God by repenting of his sins and worldly wisdom and embrace the Lordship of Jesus.
Oprah, honey, you took a seriously wrong turn when you apostatized from the faith. Sigh. In light of Oprah’s open rebellion against the God of the Bible, I denounce the Oprahification of the church. The New Age Aquarian Jesus, the so-called Cosmic Christ that she preaches is not the genuine Savior of the world. She has strayed from the path and given birth to the “O” Cult.
Our postmodern priestess Oprah got angry at the God of the Bible for misunderstanding his claim that he is a jealous God, and stomped off to start her own home grown religion, so I repent of listening to her. She is spreading damning lies about Jesus via her radio-show called “New Age Christ,” a Jesus of her own making, not the one of the Bible.
Oprah propagates a hellish message of spiritism and New Age doctrine. 1st Timothy 4:1 warns, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” “New Age” is an old religion rooted in the worship of Self that Oprah departed from the faith to embrace. She has been seduced by deceiving spirits and is not a spokesperson for the Living God.
For 2009, I resolve to run far fewer interventions and instead offer up more intercession being grateful that I will accomplish nothing except in answer to prayer.
I renounce any spirituality that is not centered on the eternal Word of God. Bluntly, I’ve had my Phil of it.
I renounce any superstar spiritual guru, even those to profess belief in a Higher Power, unless that power is the Living God who has revealed himself through his written Word. Shaman you both!
Though Dr. Phil, or a smartly dressed angel from Chicago, come preaching a different Gospel that the one I first believed, I will not given them any real estate between my ears. I re-embrace Gods Book of the Month Club, all 66 books that make up the Bible and will get my life answers there.
Let’s get the conversation back on Jesus, shall we?
Amen.
